The new DfE guidance for primary mathematics can be found here. This 300+ page document outlines the key 'ready to progress' criteria for each of years 1 - 6.
Schools will need to digest this lengthy document but should NOT see it as a Scheme of work/Scheme of learning. Whilst the authors are in agreement that mathematical reasoning is a requirement, this is not always explicit in the document and teachers should be careful not to ignore the need for children to reason at all stages.
