Showcasing at Power of Six National Maths Conference

Some 400+ delegates attended the day, with Keynote speakers including 

• Sir Kevin Collins - Education Endowment Foundation
• Jane Jones HMI - National Lead for Mathematics
• Celia Hoyles - UCL

The hands on Build-it, Say-it, Write-it workshops were led by Pip and she shared some of her big ideas of how to secure understanding at KS3.

There were some 'light bulb' moments for delegates who made comments such as:-

• "Oh of course that makes sense now" 
• "Yes! I need to do this with my students"
• "I never knew that"

Covering topics in Number, Algebra , Geometry and Statistics, Pip showed how using the Build-it, Say-it, Write-it approach then students can secure conceptual understanding.

With budget restrictions in mind Pip included activities where the resources/manipulatives expense was minimal if necessary.
